For the past two weeks the 8th graders and I have been in Japan. Two out of the 12 days we have visited Japan, I had to stay with a host family from our school’s sister school. My host’s name was Kohsuke, Kohsuke has a twin brother named Taisuke who was Aaron’s pen pal. Aaron and I had a lot of fun with Kohsuke and Taisuke, they took us to Kokura Castle and a mall right next to the castle. Kokura castle was burnt down in 1837 then rebuilt two years later. Inside the castle were many fun attractions, such as a simulation where you rode a horse while trying to shoot the targets. There were also many exhibits that showed the history of Japan.
After visiting Kokura castle we took a 5 minute walk to the mall. The mall was huge and had so many different stores and restaurants. My favorite part about the mall was there was a whole floor dedicated to Anime figures and Sarah, Karli and Jennifer were dragged along. In total I bought 5 figures to add to my collection and 2 more in Akihabara. After expanding my figure collection, we went to eat ramen at Ichiban Ramen. At Ichiban Ramen we ate in booths to help focus on the taste, it was really cool and I think we should do this in Hawaii.
After we went to the mall we decided to go to the ferris wheel, we chose a glass booth where we could see everything. After the ferris wheel we decided to head home, and we took the bus. We took the bus to the convenient store where we bought a whole gallon of lemon tea. The last thing we did for the day was buy a One Piece film and we went home and watched it.
